How to find the right audio and video equipment for

portable

church

NO TWO CHURCHES ARE THE SAME.

Copying another church's setup may seem easy, but we know each church faces distinct hurdles and chances. Whether your congregation is well-established or just beginning, we are committed to finding the right gear for your needs. Our guide offers valuable advice for churches meeting in various spaces like schools, movie theaters, or prisons.

ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS.

  • What equipment does the venue already have that you are able to use?

  • Does all or some of this equipment operate up to the standards that your church is hoping to achieve?

  • How many environments are going to need equipment? (e.g. auditorium, kids, lobby, parking lot)

  • How many team members, paid or volunteer, are you going to need to operate your tech?

  • What equipment can be stored onsite and what will need to be stored offsite?

  • How will you secure your equipment?

  • What type of microphone does the primary communicator want or need?

  • How many vocalists and musicians will be on stage?

  • Will the band need a confidence monitor for lyrics?

  • How will you provide lyrics and teaching notes for the entire congregation to see?

  • Are you wanting to record the messages for audio and/or video podcast or youtube?

  • Do you need to stream video live or for rebroadcast?

  • Is wifi available? If not, what do you need to access wifi?

  • Do you have a back up plan if equipment (streaming, microphones, etc) fails?

  • What percentage of your budget are you going to allocate towards equipment?

  • Do you need to raise additional funds in order to get the equipment you want or need?

  • How much do you need to budget each month for unexpected repairs and normal wear and tear?

start with the essentials.

If there is one thing that a church needs most, it’s audio equipment. The focus of your gathering is the spoken word so build your foundation there. You might need to get a bit further in your journey as a church before you’re ready to invest in lights and video. That’s ok. Start with the audio equipment you need in order to make your message heard.
